The Excellencies of Christ

"For the essence of sin is man substituting himself for God, while the essence of salvation is God substituting Himself for man. Man asserts himself against God and puts himself where only God deserves to be; God sacrifices Himself for man and puts Himself where only man deserves to be. Man claims prerogatives which belong to God alone; God accepts penalties which belong to man alone."
-John Stott

Awesome! We've been auditing a class on the "excellencies of Christ" and this quote was part of the session where we talked about the cross. I don't have much to say to expand on it, but I just wanted to share it with whoever is out there in "blogland"!!  ~Kara

Hey Jason and Kara (or Kara...and Jason...seeing as I'm responding to Kara's blog :) )

It's good to hear about your life (even if it is in blogland). That class (the excellencies of Christ) sounds awesome. I went through a workbook from IHOP called "introduction to Biblical Eschatology" or something like that, by David Silker (also a teacher at IHOP). It was also very good.

May God speak to you two clearly and may His love and strength and encouragment flow through you richly.

With much love, and hope for you two,

Nicholas
